David Deacon is the Chief Talent Officer for MasterCard, responsible for ensuring MasterCard hires great talent and develops the talent and leadership capabilities needed for the long term. His teams lead a range of talent practices around the world, from talent reviews; succession planning; performance management; experienced and executive recruitment; campus hiring; management, leadership and high-potential development; training in critical skills and knowledge, and engagement and career development. Prior to this role David was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse with responsibility for bankwide human capital processes, including talent reviews, leadership development and Managing Director elections; he had earlier founded the Leadership Institute at Credit Suisse First Boston, established the global training function within the Investment Banking business and ran HR for the same business in Europe. David’s earlier career featured HR generalist and development specialist roles at Paribas, Deloitte Haskins & Sells, and British Gas. He has lived and worked in the UK, the US, and Hong Kong.
